Keeping up “all things infidelity” is an essential part of bringing you the behind-the-scenes stories of cheating celebrities that I write for my Celebrity Infidelity column (www.CelebrityInfidelity.com ) for Examiner.com.
For the past 8 years, at the beginning of each year I compile a list of the top 10 infidelity news stories for the previous year.
Below is my list of the top 10 infidelity news stories of 2011. This is my 8th annual list.

1. Arnold Schwarzenegger Fathers a Secret Son with His Housekeeper
Arnold Schwarzenegger fathered a love child as a result his extramarital affair with the family’s long-time housekeeper, , Mildred Patricia (Patty) Baena, and kept it a secret for more than 10 years. Schwarzenegger’s secret son Joseph, and his youngest son, Christopher were born less than a week. Maria Shriver, Schwarzenegger’s wife and his mistress, Patty Baena, (who continued to work for the family) were pregnant at the same time. Upon retiring after 20 years of working for the Schwarzenegger-Shriver family, Schwarzenegger helped Baena buy a home in Bakersfield, California Shortly before the scandal broke, Maria Shriver moved out, and after much deliberation, eventually filed for divorce. What made this scandal so devastating was that in addition to being a trusted family employee, Baena was also close family friend, whose children vacationed with the Schwarzenegger family and entertained the Schwarzenegger family as guests at family events at the Baena home.

2.Jerry Sandusky and Same-Sex Infidelity
Jerry Sandusky, former Penn State assistant football coach, is facing 52 counts of sexual misconduct / molestation of 10 boys over a period of 15 years This is actually a case of same-sex infidelity since Sandusky is a married man who cheated on his wife, Dottie Sandusky with boys. Since the boys in question were targeted from Second Mile, Sandusky’s charitable foundation for at risk youth, it bears striking similarities to the case of Bishop Eddie Long, a prominent married minister who cheated on his wife with young men were targeted from the Longfellow Club affiliated with his church. The case caused such an uproar that it led to the firing of Penn State head coach Joe Paterno, and other university officials.
3. Ashton Kutcher Cheats on Demi Moore with Sara Leal
On the weekend of his 6th anniversary, while his wife, Demi Moore was miles away in New York, Ashton Kutcher had a fling with party girl Sara Leal, who boasted to, and was outed by some of her friends. Demi desperately attempted to save her marriage to Ashton who is 16 years her junior, by having them undergoing couples counseling with a Kabbalah counselor, but to no avail. Demi finally released an official statement saying that she was filing for divorce; thus another celebrity cougar marriage bites the dust.
4. Kobe Bryant Rivals Tiger Woods with 105 Extramarital Affairs
Vanessa Bryant filed for divorce from NBA player Kobe Bryant, because his infidelity escapades began to rival those of Tiger Woods and she’d finally had enough. . Based on reports Vanessa Bryant obtained from the private investigator she hired to tail her husband, Kobe cheated with an estimated 10 women a year, for an approximate total of 105 extramarital affairs during the course of their 10 ½ year marriage. Since Vanessa and Kobe married when she was 18 years old and had no prenup, Vanessa will receive half of Kobe Bryant’s fortune, the couple’s 3 mansions, child support, and lifetime spousal support – a settlement that rivals Elin Nordegren’s divorce settlement from Tiger Woods.
5. Anthony Weiner Engages Cyber Infidelity by Sexting
Congressman Anthony Weiner of Queens New York engaged in cyber infidelity by sexting 3 women. At first Weiner denied posting a picture of his erection in his undershorts, claiming that his Twitter account had been hacked. Weiner later confessed to having had several inappropriate conversations which were sexually explicit in nature with at least 6 women during the course of his 3-year marriage to Huma Abedin, an aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, though he denied having met any of the women involved. Weiner was pressured to resign from office, thus dashing his plans to run for Mayor of New York City in 2013.
6. Chris Hansen and His 2 Mistresses
To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen, who traps sex perverts in TV stings, found himself on the receiving end of his own hidden camera tactics when the National Enquirer secretly taped during a rendezvous with Kristyn Caddell, his mistress of 4 months. Hansen, who lives in Connecticut with his wife and children, met Caddell, a journalist 22 years his junior, while working on a project in Florida. He was later discovered to have a second mistress in Las Vegas, as well. Hansen’s sexual escapades may have cost him the coveted spot of lead anchor on NBS’s Dateline.
7. Jesse James Cheats on Kat von D with 19 Different Women
Not content with having cheated on Sandra Bullock and having his third marriage end in divorce, Jesse James also cheated on his fiancée Kat von D 19 different women during the year they were together. After an on again off again romance in which celebrity tattoo artist Kat gave Jesse every opportunity to get his act together, she finally called off their wedding, pulled the plug on their relationship for good. Unfortunately Kat didn’t see Jesse’s true colors until after she’d featured him several times on her reality TV show LA Ink, and had a huge picture of Jesse James as a boy tattooed on her side.

8. Michaela Salahi Runs Off with Journey Guitarist Neal Schon
A distraught and weeping Tareq Salahi ( one half of the couple known as the White House Gate Crashers) put out a desperate plea fearing that his reality star wife, Michaela had been kidnapped and was being held somewhere against her will. She’d left home that morning to go to the hair salon and never returned home. Much to Tareq’s humiliation, he later found out that Michaela Salahi had left him for Journey guitarist Neal Schon, supposedly a family friend, with whom she’d been carrying on an affair. An embarrassed Tareq Salahi filed for divorce.
9. John Edwards Begs His Former Mistress Rielle Hunter to Marry Him
Facing a 6-count indictment for the misuse of campaign funds, disgraced politician, John Edwards, tried to get Rielle Hunter, his former mistress and the mother of his lovechild, to marry in in a quickie justice of the peace ceremony to keep her from having to testify against him in court Since the funds in question were used to pay for Hunter's living and medical expenses while she was pregnant, and hide her from the media during the peak of Edwards’ presidential campaign, Hunter would be a material witness in the case. Since husbands and wives cannot testify against each other in most cases, Edwards thought marrying Rielle Hunter would save his skin. But Hunter rejected Edwards’ marriage proposal because she saw through his ruse.
10. Chris Lee – the Craig’s List Congressman
In another case of cyber infidelity, Congressman Chris Lee posted a shirtless cell phone picture of himself in response to a woman’s Craig’s List ad. The woman turned out to be African-American single mother, Yesha Callahan, who blew the whistle on Lee when she found he was a federal lawmaker with a wife and son. Following Lee’s abrupt resignation, it was also discovered that he trolled Craig’s List, and placed an ad of his own in search of “sexy transsexuals/ cross dressers.” Lee corresponded with at least 2 transgender women from Washington, DC.
